90 Day Review

Every quarter I sit down with the companies I manage and ask the same set of questions. Consistency in the questions matters — it trains your team to think about these things proactively, not just reactively when we're in the room together.

Before your next quarterly meeting, work through these and have your team do the same. Review your V/TO, your 1-year goals, and your 90-day rocks before you walk in.

Business Review Questions

  1. What's broken, not clicking, or not working right?
  2. What people concerns do you have?
  3. What process concerns or inefficiencies have you identified?
  4. What client concerns do you have?
  5. What client opportunities will you pursue next quarter? What is your plan?
  6. What assignments, contracts, or listings are at risk?
  7. Overall, is there anything that you think will limit growth in 2024 or beyond?
  8. What else comes to mind that you want to process together next week?

Personal Life Reflection Questions

The quarterly review isn't just for business. I also run through these questions for my personal life:

  1. What personal goals did I make progress on this quarter?
  2. What professional achievements am I most proud of?
  3. How did my most important relationships develop?
  4. How is my health — physically, mentally, spiritually?
  5. What did I learn that changed the way I think or act?
  6. What did I improve compared to last quarter?
  7. What was the most memorable moment of the quarter?
  8. What goals did I set that I didn't meet — and why?
  9. How did I spend my time? Was it aligned with my priorities?
  10. What feedback did I receive, and what did I do with it?

Use these reflections to identify patterns, celebrate your successes, and plan for continuous improvement in the next quarter. Here's to a successful new quarter!
